QMplus Hub – Will my portfolio still work?

5 June 2015 Posted in: Articles By: Alysa Bramble

qmPlus-hub_white_transOn June 16th we are launching a major rebranding of our E-portfolio and social networking software currently called QMplus Groups & Portfolios. The relaunched name is QMplus Hub.

The focus of this article is on what will happen to your eportfolio pages and the content you have uploaded after the upgrade on the 16th June.

New features

As part of the relaunch we have created a fresh new user interface that works across all your devices – similar to QMplus itself. We have also added a few new content types:

  • a PDF block for embedding PDFs directly onto your pages
  • the capability to add videos uploaded into our new media server QMplus Media
  • the capability of adding documents uploaded to your Microsoft Onedrive account
  • the embedly block which enables a vast array of content to be embedded on your pages (requires an embedly id)
  • a new social media block
  • a block that will display any badges you may have earned

There are more details of other changes being made to QMplus Groups & Portfolios on this website.

Is my content safe?

Yes. All of the content you have in Groups & Portfolios will still be there and will work as it did before. What is changing is the interface and in particular the method by which you create pages.

Here are the 4 key changes you need to know about:

  1. You will be able to access QMplus Hub directly or via the links on the horizontal menu bar or the QMplus home page.

navigating to QMplus Hub2. When you navigate to QMplus hub you will see the new theme. All the menu items are the same as they are now but the colour and design has changed. Your settings, the search users and logout buttons are now at the top right of your screen.

3. When you navigate to pages in your portfolio you will notice that they look a bit different. The default theme is called QMplus Hub (pictured below). You can select any of the six themes from the theme chooser on the editing menu, then when you save your page, you will notice the different styles. (QMplus blue is perhaps closest to what we currently have on Groups & Portfolios).

4. When you edit your page you will notice the biggest change. The menu of content you can add to your page is now a vertical menu on the left (currently it is across the top of your page).

Using the vertical menu you can open individual menu items to reveal the submenus of content then drag and drop these onto the page as you did before. In the screengrab below the ‘Media’ tab has been opened.
