Beyond QMUL

There’s a whole e-learning community out beyond Queen Mary which you may be interested in. Many groups hold regular meetings and maintain mailing lists, newsletters etc. Your academic discipline or professional area may also have e-learning groups that might be worth finding out more about.

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • The M25 Learning Technology Group – This is a friendly group open to anyone working in the Higher Education sector who works within the M25 (roughly) with an interest in using technology in teaching. The group meets 3 times a year in various locations in London. Generally speaking at least one member of the E-Learning Unit will be at an M25 meeting so if you’d like to go with someone, get in touch.
  • Moodle User Group London – Meets 3 times a year to share good practice (MOODLE-USERS-LONDON@JISCMAIL.AC.UK)
  • ALT-C  (The Association for Learning Technology) – Have a programme of events, an open source journal and an annual conference.
  • Educause is the American equivalent to ALT
