I can’t edit my recording

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

For: StaffApplication: After making a recording , Q-ReviewTagged: faq

Changes to Q-Review now mean that there are no restrictions to making edits to recordings, as there were before (with the 28 day editing window). Instructors can now make edits any time after the recording has been processed and they are now also able to provide editing access to colleagues, themselves.

  1. To edit a recording you can either click on the Q-Review link within a QMplus course area or login directly to Q-Review at https://echo360.org.uk – using your QMUL email address and password.
  2. Click on the Library tab in the top left of the screen.
  3. Click on the ellipsis on the right of the recording thumbnail you’d like to edit to reveal the options, then click ‘Edit Media’.

You’ll receive a warning stating any edits made will also take effect in other published versions of the recording, for you to select if you’d like to Continue or Cancel the action. If you select Continue you can then make simple edits via the Media Editor, shown here:

You can use the cut marker to determine what points in the video track you want to edit, by splitting it and choosing the start and end of those pieces you wish to remove. If you’d like more information on editing in Q-Review please see Using the Echo360 video media editor

Once changes have been made, don’t forget to click the Save button to the right of the editor screen. Please allow a little while for these changes to be reflected in the recording when clicked upon once more. (The video will be re-processed and this can sometimes take as long as the recording is in duration – e.g. a 1 hour recording may take 1 hour to be re-processed).

Should you find that the changes are not processed or that you encounter any issues when making changes, please raise a ticket via the Helpdesk.

Did this answer your query? If not, you can raise a ticket on the online Helpdesk or email: its-helpdesk@qmul.ac.uk . Alternatively you can also request a particular guide or highlight an error in this guide using our guides request tracker.
